Following up work done in RS lessons before half term, when Year 8 were finding out about Hindu deities, customs, beliefs and practices, it was all brought to life by Kirtida at the Krishna Centre in Newcastle when they went to the temple.
During their time there, the group experienced all the senses being stimulated as part of a puja ceremony. They were able to play the Indian drums and best of all, to paint Aum signs and flowers on each other’s hands! The place was alive with colours and mystical sounds and the air thick with incense. Kirtida explained a number of fascinating philosophies about her religion and brought the whole topic to life.
