Choral Day

The music just keeps getting better and better!

Last night's Choral Day was such an uplifting occasion on many fronts and to have a packed Theatre, plenty of parental involvement, a larger than ever orchestra (complete with harpsichord) and two soloists of the calibre of Tom Bennett (erstwhile Ashdown teacher) and Aimee de Havas (OA and current gapper) is a real bonus.  Mr Coppack led us through excerpts from Purcell's 'Dido and Aeneas', and into sections of Handel's wonderful 'Messiah'.  Needless to say, the Hallelujah Chorus raised the roof and to see numerous members of the audience enthusiastically singing along proved that events like this are alive and very well.  Roll on next year's!
