The boys had been looking forward to this for some time…

....and Brigadier General Owen (Commander of the tank corps) did not disappoint in his choice of attire for the occasion!

After some strategic discussions with the engineer-in-chief…

...the tank set off into battle, headed towards the enemy trenches [the 2nd fairway golf bunker].

The enemy's weapon of choice, of course, was nothing if not original [the cricket department's bowling machine]

A barrage of shells [cricket balls] raced at 90mph into the air…

…and every direct hit resulted [bizarrely] in a frenzy of celebration!

In the end, however, it was the tank that was victorious as it smashed into enemy lines…

…and the event was hugely enjoyed by all of the boys.

It was yet another triumph for the History Department and all others involved…

…but please don't try this at home!
