The Ten for Ten appeal is now underway, and the organisers are thrilled to have received the following pledge of support from Andrew Strauss, captain of the England cricket team:
"I would very much like to give my support to the Ten for Ten campaign and wish it every success. I hope as many people can get behind this as possible to show support to the fantastic men and women who serve our country every day. Good luck."
Andrew Strauss, England cricket captain
This most welcome pledge of support comes only days after the news of HRH The Duke of Cambridge's backing of the campaign. Founded by Cothill teacher Alix Anson, Ten for Ten has been made possible by the backing of the Cothill Trust and the tremendous support of the staff and boys alike. Tomorrow, 1st October, marks the first of ten days' fundraising nationwide to honour the service and enormous sacrifices made by our Armed Forces, their families and children during the last ten years in Afghanistan. The appeal seeks to raise £1 million before it culminates on Red, White & Blue Day on 10th Oct. Please support the appeal in any way that you can.
There are three ways to donate:
1) Online via the website www.tenforten.co.uk
2) By text (recommended) Send £10 simply by texting TEN to 70300
3) By Post Please make cheques payable to Ten for Ten and send to:
Ten for Ten, c/o Appleton Village Shop, 39 Easton Road, Appleton, OX13 5JH
Please spread the word amongst family and friends, and thank you for all of your support!
